Designed to unify the two levels of this Norton, MA. college, the new Student Center extends to both ends of the campus, boldly completing the lower campus green. A combination renovation / new construction project, the Campus Center houses a host of student activities. |

The atrium is the heart of the new Campus Center. Shaped by the brick facade of a 1940s building, on the one hand, and the toplit wall of the new addition, on the other, the atrium connects a range of campus offerings: post office / cafe / student offices / exercise rooms.

Offset by a continuous ridge skylight, the new atrium wall stands in sharp contrast to the opposing brick wall. The pale-toned wall reflects abundant natural light into the north-facing atrium. Wall is rhythmically articulated with columns / beams / windows / custom light fixtures.
