By renovating an old gymnasium and constructing a major new addition, a Library was introduced at this Portland, Maine campus. The new Library links two existing buildings, creating an entrance court off the main campus green and providing outdoor study space for students. |

The main reading room of the new Library is housed in a renovated gymnasium. Extending the upper floor level, a new mezzanine was suspended from the original trusses, where a running track once encircled the gymnasium floor. All furnishings selected or designed by the architect. |
