On a corner lot bordered by old fieldstone walls, the new library is sited to create three distinct zones: a public terrace to the west / a quiet meadow to the south / an active vehicular zone to the north. The porch, reminiscent of a nearby porte-cochere, invites patrons arriving on foot or by car.

Abundant natural light / soaring, shaped ceilings / quiet meadow views mark all public reading spaces at this new town library. Across the articulated walkway, books and staff offices line the north side of the building, cushioning readers from the noisier entrance side of the library.
