In the main classroom building, a large, under-utilized attic was converted into classrooms for the entire middle school. New dormers were added to allow daylight and ventilation. Design was chosen to complement the building's symmetrical Georgian facade.

An oversized attic presented an opportunity to create a variety of different spaces: Seven classrooms are clustered around a two-story, multipurpose room, which features a large new "eyebrow" dormer. Overlooking the space is a skylighted mezzanine with study areas and offices.
